The Bellmore Striders are Long Islands Premier Racing Team.
Organized practices are held three times per week, led by Coach Alex Cuozzo USATF Level 3 & IAAF Level 5 Endurance & Combined Events, USATF Level 2 Throws, Sprints, Hurdles & Relays.
Coach Alex has been tedious in committing himself to the sport of Road Running, Cross Country and Track & Field while maintaining the Bellmore Striders since 1976. The team has acted as a support structure in helping young talent develop further into competitive post collegiate athletes. Alex himself has completed 15 marathons, including a win at the 1986 Long Island Marathon and competed in 14 international events all over the world. Please help welcome our new Independence Day Run sponsor Antun's of Queens Village!
Sunday mornings all year have remained the same (except when we race) behind Massapequa Train Station rear parking lot 9:30am start. All workouts are followed by strideouts and core drills.
Our Fall cross country development program runs for 6 weeks.
Bethpage State Park: Tuesdays July 10, 17, 24, 31 Aug. 7, 14, 2018 6pm. Fartlek style and skills development. Non-members are welcome with prior arrangement.
Sunken Meadow State Park: Thursdays July 19, 26 Aug. 9, 16, 23, 2018 6pm. Tempo style and skills development. Non-members are welcome with prior arrangement.
